SAM
Gas Projects (P) Ltd. being one of the leading manufacturer and
exporter of gas generators is at the forefront in the production of
hydrogen plant. Our designs are a perfect blend of quality and
compactness. They are fully-automatic that generate hydrogen gas for
various purposes. One of our prime aim is on delivering our clients the
best hydrogen generators with excellent durability and cost
effectiveness. All our hydrogen generators are user friendly with
minimal maintenance required. Though hydrogen is produced with different techniques, yet few of them are listed below:
Water Electrolysis Process
Electrolysis is a process by which electrical energy is used to produce a chemical change. The most familiar example of electrolysis is the decomposition (breakdown) of water into hydrogen and oxygen by means of an electric current. In this process, the equipment used for electrolysis of a compound consists of three parts: a source of DC (direct) current; two electrodes; and an electrolyte.
Electrolysis begins when electrical current flows out of one pole of the battery into one electrode, the cathode. Now, positive hydrogen ions (H+) in the electrolyte pick up electrons from that electrode and become neutral hydrogen molecules (H2):
As the electrolysis of water occurs, one can see tiny bubbles escaping from the electrolyte at the cathode. These are bubbles of hydrogen gas which is 99.8% pure.
Ammonia Cracking Process
Among various methods to produce hydrogen for industrial purposes, ammonia cracking process is one of them. Where nitrogen doesn't function as an impurity, ammonia cracking process is the most preferred one for a hydrogen plant. It is also preferable where hydrogen is used as a reducing atmosphere whereas ammonia is used as a raw material.
The process of ammonia cracking needs the presence of nickel catalyst at the temperature of 850 degree C approximately. In this way, one can receive a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen in equal ratio because these constituents are already present in ammonia. The ratio is :
- H2 - 75% (Hydrogen)
- N2- 25% (Nitrogen)
